Hello Rusty,

DJConsole Rmx is not a mixer, but a controller: DJ Console Rmx controls send commands to the DJ software, they do not actually process the commands (with the exception of the microphone volume and headphones volume) so DJ Console Rmx volume and gains buttons cannot control the volume and gain in Audacity because Audacity has no function to interact with a DJ controller.
So if you move the master volume or the deck gain on DJ Console Rmx, it is normal it does nothing on Audacity.

If you mean that you cannot record a vinyl disc in Audacity when using the Rmx as audio interface, it is different, you should be able to record your vinyl disc on the Rmx in Audacity:
1) If your turntable has a phono output level (if it has a ground cable, it has probably a phono output level), you must make sure you set the input level on phono on the Rmx (with the phono/line switch close to the input set on phono)
2) If your turntable has a phono output, make sure its cell has a strong output level (7mV or higher, as for example Shure M44.1 whose output level is 9.5mv) since if it has a low output level (below 2mv on cells not made for DJing), the sound will not be loud enough.

If you mean something else, please explain exactly what you want to do:
- which software you use,
- whether you turntable is in line or in phono,
- and which volume setting you try to activate.
