Problema jog wheel

 Quando cerco di portare indietro una traccia tramite la jog wheel capita che la canzone si blocchi quindi devo mollare la jog wheel stessa per poi toccarla nuovamente per cercare di sbloccare la canzone. Soprattutto questo capita se tengo la jog wheel sul lato più esterno della jog wheel stessa. Grazie per l’aiuto

- DJ software, with its version (version number, for example Virtual DJ Pro V8.5 b7031)
- operating system, with its version (as Windows 10 64-bit Version 21H2 Build 19044.1586)
- Hercules DJ drivers version (as 2022.HDJS.1)

and, on this specific issue, please precise
- if the software is VirtualDJ, if its CPU meter is red as the moment of the issue
- if the audio mode of the 4-Mx is ASIO or WASAPI/WDM at the moment of the issue
- if you hear an audio glitch or audio stop at the moment of this issue
- if the scratch/vinyl mode is On or Off
- if it occurs on both decks or only on 1 deck, and then precise which deck.

 I have a Hercules Inpulse 500 Gold Edition. Software is Djuced 5.3.4 on Mac Air. When I start a song if I try to bring it back with the jog wheel the song stops or makes weird things like moving slowly so I have to pause the song move the jog wheel and play the song back. The vinyl mode is on and it occurs on both decks.

 Hello Alby,

For your jog wheel issue, please go in Djuced > Settings > Deck and let me know your jog wheel settings.


On my side, I set
- Jog pitch bend sensitivity on 8%
- Scratch sensitivity on 50%

I usually keep 20% the jog pitch bend sensitivity and 35% the scratch sensityvity. I use this set up on my Hercules Inpulse 500 and it works but on the gold edition that I have it doesn’t. I tried you set up on the jog wheels but it doesn’t work.

Please confirm if you get the same behaviour

1) in Serato Lite or Pro,

2) whether the MacBook Air power supply is connected or not connected?

 1) Yes, same behaviour

2) I tried to plug in the Mac and it seems to be working fine.

Do I have to plug it in everytime or there’s a solution?

 Hello Alby,

The jog wheels top surface touch detection depends on the DJ controller grounding and as the DJ controller is powered by the computer USB port, it uses the computer ground and a small laptop as the MacBook Air has obviously a light ground when not connected to the power adapter, which reduces its grounding efficiency.

The 2 most efficient ways to get a proper ground are:
- either to connect the Macbook Air power
- or to connect a USB hub which its own power adapter between the DJ controller and the computer.

Another way which is not 100% efficient but is often efficient is to connect to the master output speakers powered by a wall power outlet (if the speakers power is well grounded, it provides enough grounding for jog wheels' touch detection).

 I guess I’ll just use the DJ controller with the computer plugged into an outlet. Not too bad! Thanks for your suggestions..
