so here is the deal, i have 2 anaog cdjs and the hercules rmx 2. i was booked for a gig but was told that id be using their cdjs and mixer. for practicing i set up this way (i sold my 2 channel a while ago so i have nothing to use for a mixer besides the herculesrmx 2)  i set the configuration of vdj as such

input: line ins

output: headphones 1+2, master 3+4

soundcard: asio, hercules rmx 2

when i go to cue with my headphones the cue/mix knob makes the master channel switch over to cue or master.

anyone have a remedy?

First off, your configuration should be as follows:

Input: Line ins

Output: Master 1+2 , Headphones 3+4

Soundcard: ASIO, Hercules RMX 2

This configuration indicates to the software that you are mixing internally (though the software), which is correct in this case since you don't have an external mixer. However, you have to keep in mind that on the Rmx2 (and 99.9% of all mixers), the master output is always assigned to Ouput 1+2 and the headphone channel always to Output 3-4.

Also be aware that since the headphone ouputs of the Rmx2 are physically linked to Ouput 3+4, using the CUE/Mix know will affect the signal that comes ouput of them equally.
