hi ive been running my rmx through a mixer and it sounds ok but when i use the connection out to powered speakers its very poor quality and lots of crackling, ive tried adjusting the sample rate as well as the sample size in the asio driver but when i start up vdj it converts it back to the factory settings the only one that will stay changed is the buffer setting but this doesnt seem to help. running 5.0pro and i just updated the drivers to v4 but found that when you used beat lock the sound became distorted so ive gone back to v3 and it has cured that.
also found in vdj that latency is best at 11ms safe mode and overclocked unticked

Try these settings mate.
VirtualDJ config>Preformance tab
Preset slider to Fastest (all the way to the left), Latency on Auto (from the dropdown)
Uncheck Safe Mode and Overclock.
