Hey guys,

I've been waiting a long time to finally buy a DJ' control, or however you call it.
So, I decided to search in internet for some, and I decided to buy a Hercules DJ' control.
It's my first one, so, I also don't want to spend very much money on it.
My first good impression, on price/quality, were DJ' Control Air and DJ' Control Instinct.
However, I also don't want to spend more money on it. So my real question is;
Which one do you think is better? I don't think that I will use the Air function, i'm also not very interested on that function.
I just found on diferences, that the Air one's has got pitch faders, and the Instinct one's has got hot cue's.
So please, let me know your experiencecs or opinions about both.
And which one, you think is better for beginners.
Thank you. Guiño (Sorry about my English, I'm from Spain)

Hello,

It depends on what you want to do:
- DJControl Instinct is the smallest of the DJ controllers with built-in audio (26.5 x 18.7cm)
- DJControl Air is larger (35x22cm)
as a result, the advantages of DJControl Air are linked to its being larger: DJControl Air has larger jog wheels (10cm diameter vs 7cm on Instinct), a standard fader to change the pitch (tempo) instead of a smaller button, and drum pads instead of standard push buttons.

If you look for the most compact DJ controller with built-in audio, DJControl Instinct is the best.
If you look for a larger controller, with more space on the jog wheelsto be more comfortable, with pitch fader to learn setting the music tempo, and with pads to trigger samples, then DJControl Air is better for you.

Thank you very much, I finally decided to buy the Control Air S Series. My first impression is very good, but I have an unexpected question. The 8 progressive pads are very usefull, but, always when I touch one, the volume of the 'sampler' for example, changes randomly always the volume up and down. So when I want to activate an sampler, maybe suddenly the volume of this one is at 90%, or 20%, or 5%, or 100%. I don't know if you undesrtand me, but please let me know if this is a fabric error, or just that I'm doing something wrong. Thank you. (Also if I maybe can deactivate this problem)

Air S+ also seems to be in discount atm here and there. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00MTIJGKG?m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&t ag=idealode-am-pk-21&ascsubtag=ltTau9tUunMHDHuvAUD5dg

I would go with air, I got the original one. More buttons = more functions. I wouldn't play with air control live, but there's more control over headphones in air. Also, Air is already a small controller and buttons are really jammed thight. If you don't really need the smallest controller on market, take a bigger one. Air fits to your basic laptop bag if needed.

I use it with Traktor, since imho it's the only good dj software there is, but there are also other opinions. In Traktor you can map buttons as you like, so more buttons = more things you can do.

Hello AurumSky,

Sorry I had not seen your message earlier.
You can disable the pad velocity controlling the sampler volume in the control panel.
Call Hercules DJ Console series control panel (in Windows, you can see its icon in bottom right section, the notification area).
Go to the Advanced tab and set Velocity Off for the sampler.
